Q
: I had chicken pox as a kid and my neighbors kid recently got them. I am 37 and now have a very painful bump on the left back side of my head that appeared. It feels just like I have a nail stuck in my head. It burns and I am consumed with finding relief from the pain. As I can't see it, I am not sure if it is a blister or not. Is it possible to get shingles from someone who has chickenpox? I am under alot of stress and fatigue as well, but wondered if exposure to the virus can trigger some outbreak as well.

Q
: My 17 year old daughter was just diagnosed with shingles. There was no pain involved just a healthy rash over on side of body. Like a sash. She's on steroids and valtrex. How long will she be communicable? she works in a restaurant and I don't want her working until she's safe. It's a haven for old folks around here.
