Q : DO YOU EVER, AT 70 YEARS OF AGE, HAVE SHINGLES WITH NO PAIN?

Answer : Hello ED. Shingles is caused by a reactivation of the chicken pox virus in our bodies. It is most commonly seen in people over the age of 50. One of the reasons that the virus reactivates after lying dormant for so many years is when the body's immunity gets lowered. Age, stress and other diseasescan lower the body's immunity leading to Shingles. Pain and a band like rash are the most common symptoms of Shingles. It is unusual but possible to have pain without blisters or blisters without pain in Shingles.
